“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.… every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” — John 15:1–2, KJV
Jesus reveals the secret to bearing not only joy and peace, but every good fruit in Him: staying connected to the Vine. A branch does not produce fruit by struggling on its own; it receives nourishment from the vine. Likewise, lasting joy and peace grow as we remain in fellowship with Christ, trusting His Word and allowing His Spirit to shape our hearts.
Even in pruning seasons, the Father’s hand is purposeful. His correction is an expression of His care, removing what hinders our growth so that we can become more fruitful. As we surrender unhealthy attitudes, distractions, and the need to control every outcome, we make room for what He desires to cultivate in us. Pruning may be uncomfortable, but His purpose is fruitfulness.
Beloved, do not allow what you are going through to disconnect you from the One who carries you through. When your heart feels weary, draw closer in prayer. When uncertainty rises, hold firmly to His promises. You do not need to have every answer to experience His peace, and you do not need perfect circumstances to receive His joy. Your source is Jesus, and His supply does not run dry!
This month, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing as you remain rooted in Him (Romans 15:13). Let His love nourish your heart until His life becomes visible in your words, choices, and relationships. Stay connected, keep believing, and trust the Father with your growth.
Have a joyful day, and may you and your family be encouraged, refreshed in His love, and filled with His perfect peace as you remain connected to Christ. Shalom!
Jeremiah 10:1–11:23
God warns His people not to follow the practices of nations who worship idols. Idols are made by human hands and have no real power, but the Lord is the true and living God. Jeremiah reminds Judah of their broken covenant and calls them back to obedience. He also faces opposition because he speaks God’s truth.
Key Themes: True worship, idolatry, obedience, covenant, God’s sovereignty, faithfulness, opposition, and trust.
Colossians 3:18–4:18
Paul explains how faith in Christ should shape everyday relationships. Husbands and wives, parents and children, and workers are called to treat one another with love, respect, fairness, and sincerity. Believers are also encouraged to pray, live wisely, speak graciously, and share the message of Christ. Paul ends by recognising faithful co-workers in ministry.
Key Themes: Christian relationships, love, respect, responsibility, prayer, wisdom, gracious speech, service, and faithful ministry.
Psalm 78:56–72
Israel continued to test God and turn away from Him despite all He had done. Their disobedience brought consequences, and God allowed them to experience the results of their rebellion. Yet God eventually chose David to lead His people. David shepherded them with integrity and skill, showing the importance of faithful and wise leadership.
Key Themes: Rebellion, consequences, God’s faithfulness, leadership, integrity, wisdom, obedience, and shepherding.
Proverbs 24:28–29
These verses warn against giving false testimony or speaking against someone without good reason. They also reject the desire to repay wrong with wrong. Instead of saying, “I will do to them what they did to me,” we are encouraged to act with wisdom, honesty, and self-control rather than revenge.
Key Themes: Truth, honesty, justice, self-control, forgiveness, avoiding revenge, and wise relationships.
Final Reflection
Today’s passages remind us that our faith should be seen in the way we live and treat others. Jeremiah calls us to reject false things and remain faithful to God. Colossians shows us how Christ should influence our homes, relationships, work, prayers, and words. Psalm 78 reminds us that good leadership requires integrity and faithfulness, while Proverbs teaches us not to respond to wrong with revenge. May our lives reflect Christ through truth, love, wisdom, forgiveness, and faithful service.
