“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”
— 1 Chronicles 29:11–13 KJV
King David’s prayer reminds us that we have every reason to give God thanks! Greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty belong to Him. Heaven and earth are His, and the hands that hold all things are the very hands that sustain us. As we enter His presence this Sunday, let us pause before presenting our requests and acknowledge His goodness. We are still breathing, still standing, and still believing because His grace has carried us!
Thanksgiving is a beautiful expression of faith. We remember what God has done, acknowledge His sustaining presence today, and trust Him with what lies ahead. We do not have to wait until every prayer is answered before giving Him praise! Gratitude turns our attention from the weight of our concerns to the greatness of our God. As we remember who reigns over all, our hearts find fresh reasons to rest in His peace and rejoice in His love.
Beloved, whatever you are carrying today, remember whose presence you are entering! He is your Creator, Savior, Provider, Protector, Comforter, Healer, Way Maker, and Restorer. You can bring Him both your praise and your pain. Even when your heart feels weary, His presence offers strength for another step and hope for another day. Your circumstances may give you reasons to worry, but God’s faithfulness gives you reasons to keep believing!
Like David, let us declare, “Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.” May thanksgiving become more than a Sunday expression; may it shape our daily response to life. As we keep our hearts turned toward Him, may the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing! 🙌🏾
Have a safe and praise-filled Sunday! May you and your family be refreshed in the presence of the Almighty, strengthened by His power, and filled with joy and peace through every situation ahead of the week. Keep believing, keep giving thanks, and keep thriving in His love. Shalom! 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Jeremiah 16:16–18:23
God warns Judah that their sins will bring consequences, but He also reminds them that He is their refuge. He calls His people to trust Him rather than human strength. Through the picture of a potter shaping clay, God shows that He can reshape nations and people. He calls them to repent and turn from their evil ways.
Key Themes: Repentance, trust in God, consequences of sin, God’s sovereignty, transformation, obedience, and mercy.
1 Thessalonians 4:1–5:3
Paul encourages believers to live in ways that please God, practising holiness, self-control, and love for one another. He reminds them to live peacefully, work responsibly, and avoid sexual immorality. Paul also explains that Jesus will return, bringing hope to believers. Although His coming will surprise many, Christians should remain watchful and prepared.
Key Themes: Holiness, love, self-control, responsible living, Christ’s return, hope, and spiritual readiness.
Psalm 81:1–16
The psalm calls God’s people to sing joyfully and worship Him. God reminds Israel of how He delivered them from Egypt and provided for them. Sadly, they refused to listen and follow His ways. God longs for them to return to Him, promising to satisfy their needs and bless them if they listen and obey.
Key Themes: Worship, deliverance, obedience, listening to God, provision, faithfulness, and God’s desire to bless His people.
Proverbs 25:6–8
These verses teach us not to promote ourselves or rush to claim positions of honour. It is better to wait patiently and allow others to recognise our value. They also warn against rushing into arguments without understanding the facts. Humility, patience, and careful judgment can prevent embarrassment and unnecessary conflict.
Key Themes: Humility, patience, wisdom, self-control, avoiding pride, and resolving conflict wisely.
Final Reflection
Today’s passages remind us that God desires hearts that are willing to listen, change, and obey Him. Jeremiah shows us that God can reshape our lives when we surrender to Him. Paul encourages us to live holy lives while keeping our hope in Christ’s return. Psalm 81 reminds us that God desires a relationship with His people, while Proverbs teaches us to walk in humility and wisdom. May we remain teachable in God’s hands, faithful in our daily lives, and ready for Christ’s return.
