NOVEMBER 3 – DEVOTIONAL

Thanks-Giving: Grateful Hearts, Open Hands

We have entered this season of gratitude with grateful hearts and open hands. Beyond following a seasonal tradition, we want our thanksgiving and giving to flow from understanding the loving, generous nature of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Father loved us and gave His Son for our salvation (John 3:16). Jesus willingly gave Himself for us; We have reasons to give thanks because of Jesus who is the gift of God that keeps giving. And he demonstrated His gratitude with a heart of giving in many instances through the Bible. Before feeding the multitude, He gave thanks and shared the food (John 6:11). His example reveals a thankful heart toward the Father and open hands toward people.

There our focus scripture says: By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
— Hebrews 13:15–16, KJV

Beloved, “communicate” here means to share with others. Our gratitude and generosity grow from a relationship with God, beyond religious routine. We give thanks because we recognize His goodness, and we give because we have received His love. Even while waiting for answers, there is mercy to remember and grace to appreciate!

Today, let your gratitude become an act of kindness. Share a meal, encourage someone, or offer a helping hand. A grateful heart remembers the Giver; open hands help others experience His goodness.

Have a thankful, blessed day! May you and your family be encouraged to recognize God’s daily mercies, rejoice in His faithful love, and become a blessing starting with little ways you can with your time, graciousness or helping hand wherever He places you. Shalom!🙏🏽🙌🏽
