📖 2 Chronicles 1:1–3:17 — Seeking God’s Wisdom and Building for His Glory
As Solomon begins his reign, he seeks the Lord wholeheartedly and asks for wisdom rather than riches, long life, or victory over his enemies. God is pleased with his humble request and blesses him with wisdom, wealth, honor, and favor beyond all other kings. Solomon then begins the sacred work of building the Temple, a dwelling place dedicated to God’s holy name. These chapters remind us that when we seek God’s wisdom first, He equips us to accomplish His divine purpose and build lives that bring Him glory.
Key Theme: God honors those who seek His wisdom first and faithfully build according to His purpose for His glory.

📖 Romans 6:1–23 — Walking in Newness of Life Through Christ
Paul teaches that through our union with Christ, we have died to sin and have been raised to live a new life. Sin no longer has dominion over those who belong to Jesus because we are now servants of righteousness. Instead of offering ourselves to sinful desires, we are called to present every part of our lives to God as instruments of righteousness. The chapter concludes with the powerful reminder that while the wages of sin is death, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Key Theme: In Christ, we are set free from the power of sin to live holy, victorious, and righteous lives.

📖 Psalm 16:1–11 — The Fullness of Joy in God’s Presence
David confidently declares the Lord as his refuge, inheritance, and greatest treasure. He rejoices because God guides, protects, counsels, and secures those who trust in Him. Even in difficult times, David rests in hope because he knows the Lord will not abandon him. This beautiful psalm reminds us that true joy, peace, security, and eternal hope are found only in God’s presence.
Key Theme: God’s presence is our greatest source of joy, security, guidance, and everlasting hope.

📖 Proverbs 19:20–21 — Embracing Wisdom and Trusting God’s Purpose
Solomon encourages us to listen to wise counsel and receive instruction so that we may grow in wisdom throughout our lives. Although we often make many plans, it is ultimately God’s purpose that prevails. Lasting success comes when we humbly submit our desires to His perfect will and trust His direction above our own understanding.

Today’s readings encourage us to seek God’s wisdom above everything else, live in the freedom Christ purchased for us, delight ourselves in His life-giving presence, and trust His sovereign plans above our own. As we continue our Month of Praise with Gratitude & Glory, may our praise reflect hearts that seek God first, our gratitude testify to His abundant grace, and our lives become temples that display His holiness and glory.
