The Journey of Faith, Goodness & Mercy | Relationship Friday Devotion
📖 Hebrews 11:8–10
This passage reveals the power of a close relationship with God built on faith, trust, and obedience. Without physical evidence, without modern-day GPS, and without knowing where he was going, Abraham obeyed God’s call and followed His leading.
Because of his unwavering faith and relationship with God, Abraham was later called a friend of God. As he walked in obedience, God’s grace continued to strengthen his faith, and the evidence of God’s goodness and mercy flowed through his life and into future generations. Today, we are beneficiaries of that blessing as heirs of Abraham by faith.
Beloved, Be Encouraged knowing that like Abraham, our relationship with the Lord can have a far-reaching impact. Every step of faith, every act of obedience, and every moment of trusting God’s leading can influence lives, strengthen others in their faith, and create a legacy of goodness and mercy for generations to come.
Even when you cannot see the full picture, trust the One who does. As you walk closely with the Lord, His grace will strengthen your faith, and His goodness and mercy will be evident in your journey.

📖 Psalm 123:1–4 — Looking to God for Mercy
The psalmist lifts his eyes to the Lord and waits upon Him as a servant looks to the hand of a master. In the midst of contempt and difficulty, the people cry out for God’s mercy and intervention.
Key Theme: Our hope and help are found in keeping our eyes fixed on the Lord.
📖 Proverbs 16:21–23 — Wisdom That Blesses Others
These verses teach that wisdom and understanding make our words more effective and gracious. A wise heart produces life-giving speech that instructs, encourages, and benefits others.

Today’s readings remind us that God values faithful service, genuine repentance, unwavering faith, dependence on His mercy, and wisdom-filled speech.
