JUNE 3 – DEVOTIONAL

The Journey of Faith, Goodness, and Mercy

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” — Psalm 23:6
David’s declaration in Psalm 23:6 is a remarkable statement of faith. At the time he made this proclamation, he was not looking at a life free from challenges, enemies, or uncertainties. Yet, by faith, he boldly declared that goodness and mercy would follow him all the days of his life.

Like every child of God , David struggles and personal shortcomings in his journey with the Lord, but he chose to focus not on his circumstances but on the character of God. He believed God’s goodness before he fully saw it and trusted God’s mercy before it was visibly manifested. In time, his life became a testimony of that faith. From shepherd boy to king, from seasons of failure to restoration, God’s goodness and mercy continually pursued him. Even generations after David, God’s covenant mercy remained evident through his lineage, ultimately leading to the coming of Christ.

Beloved, faith often speaks before it sees. What we consistently declare in agreement with God’s Word can shape our expectations, strengthen our confidence, and position our hearts to recognize His hand at work. Do not allow present circumstances to silence your faith. Declare God’s promises over your life, family, ministry, health, and destiny. What God establishes often begins with what His children dare to believe and proclaim according to His Word.

Today, choose faith over fear, promise over problems, and God’s report over human limitations. Let your words align with what God has said concerning you.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your unfailing goodness and mercy. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. May my declarations align with Your promises, and may my life become a testimony of Your goodness and mercy in every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a faith-filled day! May you and your family be encouraged to boldly declare what you desire God to establish in your lives, trusting that His goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your lives. Shalom!🙏🏾🙌🏾
