📖 2 Samuel 18:1–19:10 — Victory, Grief & Restoring Perspective
David’s army defeats Absalom’s rebellion, securing victory for the kingdom. Yet instead of celebrating, David is overwhelmed with grief over the death of his son, Absalom. His sorrow becomes so consuming that it discourages the very men who risked their lives for him. Joab courageously confronts David, reminding him of his responsibility as king and leader. This passage reveals both the depth of a father’s love and the importance of maintaining perspective even during seasons of personal pain.
