JULY 28 – DEVOTIONAL

The Power of Praise and Glory

📖 1 Samuel 2:1–3

Hannah’s story reveals a powerful truth: every prayer, every tear, and every act of faithful praise has an appointed answer. She did not allow years of delay, disappointment, or mockery to silence her faith. Instead, when God answered her, her prayer turned into praise, and her praise brought glory to God. Hannah’s song reminds us that God is able to lift the humble, reverse impossible situations, and give honor where there was once shame.

Beloved, there is something powerful that happens when prayer turns into praise and glory. Delay becomes restoration with compensation. Mockery becomes a message of God’s faithfulness. Tears become testimonies, and waiting becomes a witness of God’s perfect timing. The same God who remembered Hannah is still remembering His people today.

May you and your family be encouraged to keep praying, keep praising, and keep giving God the glory. May every season of waiting be transformed into joyful celebration, every reproach become a testimony, and every promise God has spoken over your life be fulfilled for His glory. May your mouth be filled with praise, your heart overflow with gratitude, and your life become living evidence that God never forgets those who trust in Him. Have a blessed and victorious day! Shalom!🙏

Bible Reading Summary

📖 2 Chronicles 21:1–23:21 — God Preserves His Covenant Through Righteous Leadership
King Jehoram turns away from the Lord, leading Judah into idolatry and bringing judgment upon himself and the nation. After his death, Queen Athaliah attempts to destroy the royal family to seize the throne. However, God faithfully preserves His covenant by protecting young Joash through the courage of Jehosheba and the wisdom of the priest Jehoiada. At the appointed time, Joash is crowned king, Athaliah is removed, and the people renew their covenant with the Lord, destroying idols and restoring true worship.
Key Theme: God remains faithful to His promises, preserves His people through righteous leaders, and brings restoration after seasons of darkness.

📖 Romans 11:13–36 — The Depth of God’s Wisdom, Mercy, and Grace
Paul explains God’s redemptive plan for both Jews and Gentiles, reminding believers not to become proud but to remain humble, knowing they stand by faith alone. He reveals that God’s mercy extends to all and that His purposes are far greater than human understanding. Paul concludes with a beautiful doxology, praising the unsearchable wisdom, knowledge, and glory of God.
Key Theme: God’s mercy is available to all who believe, and His wisdom and faithfulness are beyond human comprehension.

📖 Psalm 22:1–18 — Hope in the Midst of Suffering
David cries out to God during a season of deep suffering while continuing to remember God’s faithfulness. This prophetic psalm vividly foreshadows the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross, revealing both the reality of pain and the certainty of God’s ultimate redemption. Even in moments when God seems silent, He remains present and faithful.
Key Theme: God is worthy of our trust, even in suffering, because His faithfulness never fails.

📖 Proverbs 20:7 — The Blessing of Integrity
This proverb teaches that those who walk in integrity leave a lasting legacy of blessing for their children. A life marked by honesty, righteousness, and faithfulness not only honors God but also impacts future generations.
Key Theme: Integrity is a lasting inheritance that brings blessing to both our lives and those who follow us.

Final Reflection:
Today’s readings remind us that no matter how dark the season may seem, God is always working to preserve His promises and fulfill His purpose. He raises faithful leaders, extends His mercy to all who believe, strengthens us in times of suffering, and calls us to live lives of integrity. As we continue our Month of Praise with Gratitude & Glory, may we trust God’s perfect timing, remain humble before Him, and never lose hope. May your praise become your strength, your gratitude become your testimony, your integrity become your legacy, and may the Lord faithfully preserve, restore, and establish you and your family for His glory. Amen! 🙏🏾
