JULY 16 – DEVOTIONAL

The Power of Praise and Glory

Scriptures: Philippians 4:6, 19–20; Romans 4:20–21

Abraham is a powerful example of someone who gave glory to God through unwavering faith and praise. Romans 4:20–21 tells us that he did not stagger at God’s promise through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, fully convinced that what God had promised, He was able to perform. Likewise, Philippians 4 reminds us to replace anxiety with prayer and thanksgiving, trusting that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Praise and gratitude shift our focus from the size of our problems to the greatness of our God, allowing faith to rise and His glory to be revealed in our lives.

Beloved, if you are waiting on God for an answer, don’t allow worry to silence your praise. Like Abraham, choose to glorify God before you see the fulfillment of His promises. Your praise is a declaration that God is faithful, and your gratitude is evidence that you trust Him completely. As you continue to thank Him in advance, your faith will be strengthened, your heart will be filled with peace, and God’s glory will shine through every testimony He brings to pass.

Have a praiseful day, and may you and your family be encouraged to praise God in every season, give thanks in every circumstance, and trust Him wholeheartedly, knowing that He is faithful to fulfill every promise and provide every need according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.Shalom!🙏

BIBLE READING SUMMARY

📖 1 Chronicles 22:1–23:32 — Preparing the Next Generation for God’s Purpose
David prepares everything needed for the building of the Temple, even though God has appointed Solomon to complete the work. He encourages Solomon to be strong, courageous, and obedient to the Lord, while also organizing the Levites for faithful ministry. David demonstrates that true leadership leaves a legacy by equipping others to fulfill God’s purposes.
Key Theme: Godly leaders prepare the next generation through vision, obedience, and faithful stewardship.

📖 Romans 3:9–31 — We Are Justified by Grace Through Faith
Paul declares that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, making salvation impossible through human effort. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God freely offers righteousness to all who believe. Our only boast is in the grace and mercy of God.
Key Theme: Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received by faith in Jesus Christ alone.

📖 Psalm 12:1–8 — God’s Pure Word Never Fails
In the midst of a world filled with deception and corruption, David finds confidence in the Lord’s flawless promises. While human words may fail, God’s Word is pure, trustworthy, and forever able to preserve His people.
Key Theme: God’s unchanging Word is our source of truth, protection, and hope.

📖 Proverbs 19:13–14 — God’s Wisdom Brings Peace to the Home
Solomon contrasts the sorrow caused by foolishness with the blessing of wisdom. He reminds us that while earthly possessions may be inherited, a prudent and godly spouse is a precious gift from the Lord.
Key Theme: Godly wisdom builds strong relationships and brings lasting blessings to the home.

Final Reflection:
Today’s readings remind us that God calls us to build for the future, trust completely in His grace, stand firmly on the truth of His Word, and pursue wisdom in our relationships. As we continue our Month of Praise with Gratitude & Glory, may we, like David, prepare a lasting legacy for others; like Paul, rejoice in the gift of salvation through Christ; and like the psalmist, anchor our lives in God’s unfailing Word. As we give Him praise and thanksgiving, may His glory be revealed in every area of our lives. Amen! 🙏🏾
