SEPTEMBER 24 – DEVOTIONAL
BEAUTY FOR ASHES | YOUR TRANSFORMATION CAN BECOME A DOOR FOR OTHERS
Isaiah 61:3–4 | Joshua 2:9–14 | Hebrews 11:31
When God lifts us from one place to another, He can make our testimony a doorway through which others encounter His mercy.
When we look at Rahab in the Bible, her past was complicated, her circumstances were difficult, and she lived in a city destined for destruction. Yet when she heard what God had done for Israel, something changed within her. She believed in the God of Israel and acted on that faith by protecting the spies.
Rahab’s faith did not stop with her own deliverance. She pleaded for the safety of her father, mother, brothers, sisters, and all who belonged to them (Joshua 2:13). When Jericho fell, Rahab and her household were spared (Joshua 6:22–25).
A woman whose past could have defined her became a woman remembered for her faith. Her story eventually became part of the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5).
Beloved, your transformation can become a door for someone else. The grace that found you can make you compassionate toward others. The wisdom you gained through difficult seasons can help someone avoid destruction. The testimony God gave you can give another person courage to believe again.
You may not be able to change everyone’s circumstances, but you can pray, encourage, serve, share your testimony, offer your resources, or simply point someone towards God.
May the Lord bring beauty from every ash in your life and make your story a doorway of hope, faith, and restoration for those connected to you.

Bible Reading Summary
Isaiah 43:14–45:10
God reminds Israel that He alone is their Redeemer and Creator. He tells them not to remain focused on the past because He is doing something new. Even though Israel has failed Him, God promises forgiveness and restoration for His own name’s sake. He also declares that He is the only true God and raises Cyrus to accomplish His purposes. The passage shows God’s sovereignty, mercy, and power to use people and circumstances to fulfil His plans.
Key Themes: Redemption, restoration, forgiveness, new beginnings, God’s sovereignty, and divine purpose.
Ephesians 3:1–21
Paul explains that God’s plan includes both Jews and Gentiles sharing equally in Christ’s promises. He describes his calling to preach this mystery and prays that believers will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Paul wants them to understand Christ’s great love and be filled with God’s fullness. He ends by praising God, who can do far more than we can ask or imagine.
Key Themes: God’s grace, unity, spiritual strength, Christ’s love, prayer, God’s power, and the inclusion of all believers.
Psalm 68:1–18
David celebrates God as the powerful King who defeats His enemies and protects the vulnerable. He is described as a father to the fatherless and defender of widows. God leads His people, provides for them, and gives them victory. The psalm also pictures God ascending in triumph and receiving honour from His people.
Key Themes: God’s power, protection, justice, victory, provision, praise, and care for the vulnerable.
Proverbs 24:1–2
These verses warn against envying wicked people or desiring their company. Their hearts are focused on violence and destruction rather than wisdom and peace. The passage encourages us to be careful about the people we admire and associate with because their values can influence our own choices and direction.
Key Themes: Wisdom, choosing relationships carefully, avoiding evil influence, integrity, and righteous living.
Final Reflection
These passages remind us that God is able to make all things new. He forgives, restores, strengthens, protects, and fulfils His purposes. Ephesians reminds us of the depth of Christ’s love, while Psalm 68 shows God’s care for those who are vulnerable. Proverbs calls us to choose our influences wisely.

Our first shout-out goes to Christ Embassy Ministries, under the leadership of Dr. Renee Mills and her son, Pastor Jerome Mills. Thank you for being firmly rooted in Christ and freely supporting those beyond your church family. Your presence beautifully demonstrated that we belong to one family in Christ!
To my Charis Bible School alumni, thank you for standing with me and living out the truth that our relationship with Christ should be reflected in our love for one another. What a blessing to see our shared foundation expressed through friendship and support!
To my OGM family, and all the families and friends who traveled from near and far, thank you for showing up with love and celebrating what God is doing in my life and through BOA. Your presence meant more than words can express.
