APRIL 3 – DEVOTIONAL

Empowered by Resurrection: Rising Into Destiny – Relationship Friday Devotion

The Scriptures reveal in John 13:1–20, along with Luke 23:34 and John 19:26–27, a profound picture of Jesus fulfilling purpose and destiny in the Spirit of love—a love that serves, forgives, and remains steadfast even in betrayal, pain, and suffering.

On that sacred night, Jesus knew betrayal was at the table. Yet, instead of exposing Judas, He extended friendship—offering him bread, washing his feet, and giving him honor. Even in the face of hatred, Jesus chose love. Even knowing the cross awaited Him, He chose relationship over rejection.

At the cross, His love did not waver. He prayed, “Father, forgive them…”—extending mercy to those who crucified Him. In His final moments, He demonstrated care and connection by entrusting His mother to John and John to His mother—showing us that even in pain, relationships matter to God.

Beloved, whatever you may be going through, your relationship with Jesus empowers you to overcome in the spirit of love, grace, and forgiveness. Be encouraged, knowing that even when the enemy conspire, hearts may betray, trials may press, and pain may feel overwhelming… but it is only Friday—Sunday is coming!

We are empowered by resurrection power to reflect Christ in our relationships. Instead of hatred, we are called to love. Instead of judgment, we are called to extend grace. Instead of withdrawing, we are called to serve, forgive, and remain anchored in God’s purpose for connection.

Yes, it may feel like Friday in your family, marriage, or relationship—misunderstanding, betrayal, distance, or hurt—but don’t lose heart. Resurrection power is at work. Healing is coming. Restoration is possible. Sunday is coming!

May you and your family be encouraged to have joyful, life-giving relationships—rooted in love, strengthened by grace, and sustained by the unshakable hope that Sunday is coming. 🙏
