JOY & PEACE IN BELIEVING — LET GO AND TRUST GOD!

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3 KJV

There is a kind of peace that circumstances cannot give and circumstances cannot take away. It comes from knowing that God is trustworthy. When our minds are constantly occupied with what might happen, we can easily lose our joy and become anxious. But when we deliberately turn our hearts toward God, faith begins to calm our fears.

When Judah faced a powerful enemy, the situation appeared impossible. Instead of Jehoshaphat allowing fear to control him, he sought the Lord and led the people in prayer and worship. God responded with a powerful promise: “The battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15). Before they saw the victory, they praised God. Their peace came from trusting the One who was fighting for them.

We see something similar in Mary, the mother of Jesus. When the angel announced something that would completely change her life, she did not have all the details. Yet she surrendered to God’s will, saying, “Be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38). Her faith allowed her to embrace God’s plan even when she could not understand it.

Peace in believing does not mean we understand everything. Joy and peace in believing begin when we trust God beyond what we can see. Whatever weighs on your heart today, bring it before Him. Keep believing, keep praising, and take your next step in faith. The God who holds tomorrow is with you today!

Beloved, today, refuse to let uncertainty steal your joy. You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know the One who holds tomorrow. Keep your mind stayed on Him, keep believing His Word, and allow His peace to rule your heart.

May you and your family experience His steady peace, renewed strength, and overflowing joy—even while waiting for the answer. Let go, trust God, and rest in His faithfulness! Shalom!

Bible Reading Summary

Jeremiah 8:8–9:26

Jeremiah grieves over Judah because the people have rejected God’s truth and trusted in false promises. Their leaders claim to have peace when there is no peace. The people refuse to repent, and judgment is coming because of their sin. Jeremiah mourns deeply and longs for healing and restoration for his people.

Key Themes: Truth, repentance, spiritual deception, judgment, grief, sin, healing, and restoration.

Colossians 3:1–17

Paul encourages believers to focus their hearts on Christ and leave their old sinful ways behind. They are to put away anger, dishonesty, immoral behaviour, and harmful speech and instead put on compassion, kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness, and love. Above all, believers should let Christ’s peace and Word guide their lives.

Key Themes: New life in Christ, putting away sin, godly character, forgiveness, love, peace, gratitude, and spiritual transformation.

Psalm 78:32–55

Even after seeing God’s miracles, Israel continued to doubt and rebel. They repeatedly forgot His faithfulness and tested Him. Yet God remained compassionate and continued to guide them. He delivered them from Egypt, led them through the wilderness, and brought them into the Promised Land. The passage highlights both human unfaithfulness and God’s continued mercy.

Key Themes: God’s faithfulness, human rebellion, remembering God, mercy, provision, deliverance, guidance, and trust.

Proverbs 24:27

This verse encourages wise preparation and responsible priorities. Before building or expanding a home, a person should first establish their work and livelihood. It teaches us not to rush into major commitments without first putting the necessary foundations in place. Good planning and responsible preparation help create stability for the future.

Key Themes: Wisdom, preparation, responsibility, planning, priorities, hard work, and stability.

Final Reflection

Today’s passages remind us that God wants to transform both our hearts and the way we live. Jeremiah warns us about the danger of ignoring truth and refusing to repent. Colossians shows us how to live differently because we belong to Christ. Psalm 78 reminds us not to forget God’s faithfulness, even after difficult seasons. Proverbs teaches us to prepare wisely before taking on greater responsibilities. As we remember God’s goodness, may we leave behind old ways, grow in Christlike character, and build our lives on a strong foundation.
