SEPTEMBER 25 – DEVOTIONAL
BEAUTY FOR ASHES | TRANSFORMED TO BRING TRANSFORMATION
Isaiah 61:3–4 | 1 Samuel 18:1–4 | 2 Samuel 7:18–29
One of the beautiful evidences of a transformed life is found in how we relate to others. The closer we walk with Jesus, the more His character should be reflected in our relationships—with our families, friends, colleagues, and even those who may not be able to give us anything in return.
David’s journey was filled with rejection, hardship, persecution, and years of uncertainty. Yet God transformed the shepherd boy who had been overlooked into a king who would establish a legacy. But perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of David’s transformation was the heart God developed in him.
David’s friendship with Jonathan was marked by covenant loyalty and selflessness (1 Samuel 18:1–4). Later, when David became king, he asked, “Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul?” He eventually found Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, living in Lo-debar. David restored to him his family’s land and invited him to eat continually at the king’s table (2 Samuel 9:7–13).
David’s actions reveal a beautiful picture of the grace of God that seeks us out of hiding, finds us among the ashes, and brings us—undeserving—into the King’s presence and to His table. In the presence of the Lord, where we are transformed to rebuild and restore the broken.
God transformed David and gave him a heart capable of honouring relationships and extending kindness. His transformation did not end with him; God established a covenant that impacted generations.
Beloved, your relationship with Jesus should make you more forgiving, compassionate, generous, patient, and intentional about helping others rise.

And may your walk with the Christ continue to transform the way you love, serve, forgive, honour, and relate with others. May your relationship with Jesus grow deeper, your relationships with others become healthier, and your transformed life leave a legacy of love, grace, and blessing. Shalom! 🙏🏽
Bible Reading Summary
Isaiah 45:11–48:11
God reminds Israel that He is the Creator and the only true God. He contrasts Himself with powerless idols and declares that His purposes will stand. Although Israel has been stubborn and unfaithful, God promises to refine and preserve them rather than completely destroy them. He calls them to listen and recognise that He alone can save and declare what is to come.

Ephesians 4:1–16
Paul urges believers to live in a way that reflects their calling, showing humility, gentleness, patience, and love. He emphasises unity because there is one body, one Spirit, one Lord, and one faith. Christ gives different gifts and ministries to equip His people. As believers grow spiritually, they should become mature, speak truth in love, and work together as one body.

Psalm 68:19–35
The psalmist praises God for carrying His people and providing salvation daily. God is portrayed as a powerful King who defeats enemies and protects His people. The nations are called to recognise His greatness and worship Him. The passage ends by celebrating God’s strength, majesty, and presence among His people.
Key Themes: God’s strength, salvation, protection, victory, worship, majesty, and God’s presence.
Proverbs 24:3–4
These verses teach that a strong and meaningful life is built through wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. A home is established through wise decisions, and true wealth includes valuable knowledge and understanding. The passage reminds us that lasting success is not simply about possessions but about building our lives on godly wisdom.

Final Reflection
These passages remind us that God is faithful even when people are not. He calls us to trust His purposes, grow in spiritual maturity, and work together in unity. Psalm 68 reminds us that God gives strength and salvation, while Proverbs teaches us to build our lives on wisdom.
