NOVEMBER 1 – DEVOTIONAL
Happy New Month, Beloved! 🌸 Welcome to Our Month of Thanks-Giving: Grateful Hearts, Open Hands
“O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.”
— Psalm 95:1–4, KJV
Throughout this month, our focus will be on cultivating hearts that recognize God’s goodness, lips that continually offer Him thanks, and hands that willingly share His blessings. According to Hebrews 13:15–16, both our praise to God and our generosity toward others are sacrifices that please Him. Our thanks will rise to God, and our giving will extend His love to people, revealing His gracious nature to the world.
Today, we are putting Judah first—letting praise lead the way into this month! On this first Sunday and first day of November, we enter the presence of the Giver and Sustainer of life and every good thing with hearts full of gratitude. Before we present our needs, plans, and expectations, let us pause to honor the One who has carried us this far. Father, above all, we thank You for who You are!
The psalmist gives us a reason to rejoice: “For the LORD is a great God.” His greatness does not diminish when life becomes difficult, and His goodness does not expire when answers take time. He is the Rock of our salvation—steady when everything around us feels uncertain. Our thanksgiving rests in His faithful character, even while our circumstances are still unfolding.
“In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.” What a beautiful reminder that the depths and the heights belong to Him! There is no valley too deep for His presence and no mountain beyond His authority. In our lowest moments and greatest victories, we have reason to say, “Lord, thank You for being with us!”
For the gift of Jesus, the forgiveness of sins, and the hope of eternal life—Father, we thank You! For mercies renewed, strength supplied, daily bread, and grace that met us when our own strength ran out—we thank You! For the prayers You answered and the patience You are teaching us as we wait, we give You praise. You have heard the words we could speak and understood the tears we could not explain.
Beloved, the breath we use to ask for another blessing is already a gift worth thanking God for! May we never become so familiar with His provision that we forget His kindness. Let us remember the meals, the shelter, the helping hands, the timely encouragement, and the strength to rise again. Through these everyday mercies, we see the care of our faithful Father.
As gratitude takes root in our hearts, may generosity flow through our hands. This month, let someone experience God’s kindness through us—a meal shared, time freely given, an encouraging word, or practical help. A grateful heart remembers the Giver; open hands share what He has entrusted to us.
As we begin this month with a heartfelt “Thank You” to God, let us pray that we remain mindful of His goodness, joyful in His presence, and willing to bless others.
Have a joyful Sunday! May you and your family be encouraged to recognize God’s mercies in every day, rest in His unfailing love, and share His goodness wherever you go. May your home overflow with gratitude, your hearts with peace, and your hands with opportunities to bless.
May thanksgiving become our daily response, and may our lives continue to honor the Lord throughout November and the remaining days of this year. In Jesus’ name, amen & Shalom!🙏🏽

FINAL REFLECTION
Today’s Bible passages remind us that God is glorious, powerful, faithful, and worthy of our complete obedience. Just as He called Ezekiel to deliver His message, He expects us to remain faithful to His Word, even when obedience is difficult.
We are also reminded to guard our hearts against unbelief, appreciate God’s wonderful works, and be sincere in our relationships with others.
