When God Changes Your Perspective, He Changes Your Path
Text: Genesis 13:14–17; Proverbs 3:5–6
Sometimes the new beginning God has prepared for us requires us to see differently before we can walk differently. After Lot separated from Abram, God told Abram to lift up his eyes and look again. What looked like a loss was actually making room for a larger promise.
Abram could have focused on what he had lost, but God redirected his attention toward what He was about to give him. This reminds us that we can become so focused on what is behind us that we fail to see what God is placing before us.
Beloved, perhaps your circumstances have changed, and you are tempted to interpret the change as a setback. But not every ending is a loss, and not every closed door is a rejection. Sometimes God removes what is familiar because He is making room for what is next. Trust Him even when you cannot yet understand His process.
As you embrace this month’s theme of New Beginnings, ask God to renew your perspective. What if what you have been calling an ending is actually an invitation to begin again? What if the space that feels empty is the very space God intends to fill?
Have a Vision-filled Thursday, and may the Lord lift your eyes beyond yesterday’s limitations and help you see the possibilities He has placed before you. May His grace guide your steps and lead you confidently into every new beginning He has prepared for you. Shalom! 🙏🏾
Bible Reading Summary
Job 23:1–27:23
Job continues to express his deep desire to find God and present his case before Him. Although he cannot see God or understand why he is suffering, he believes God knows his way and will ultimately prove him. Job struggles with the apparent success of wicked people, but he remains convinced that evil will not escape God’s justice forever. His friends continue to speak, but Job firmly maintains his integrity and refuses to pretend that he deserves his suffering.
Key Themes: Trusting God in uncertainty, integrity, God’s justice, perseverance, and faith during suffering.
2 Corinthians 1:12–2:11
Paul explains that he has tried to conduct his ministry with sincerity and godly wisdom. He addresses a change in his travel plans and assures the Corinthians that his decisions were not made carelessly. Paul then speaks about a believer who had caused sorrow and encourages the church to forgive and comfort him after his punishment. Paul warns that refusing to forgive can allow Satan to gain an advantage. Christian discipline should therefore lead to restoration, forgiveness, and love.
Key Themes: Integrity, forgiveness, restoration, love, wisdom, and protecting the church from division.
Psalm 41:1–13
David describes the blessing that comes from caring for the poor and helpless. He asks God for mercy and healing during his own time of sickness and trouble. David is especially hurt because someone he trusted has betrayed him. Even in this painful situation, he trusts God to support him and restore him. The psalm ends with praise to the Lord, showing that God’s faithfulness remains constant even when people fail us.

Proverbs 22:5–6
These verses teach that sinful and dishonest paths bring trouble, while those who live carefully and wisely protect themselves from unnecessary harm. The passage also gives an important instruction about raising children: parents should guide children in the right way from an early age. Proper teaching and godly direction can shape their character and influence the choices they make throughout life.

Final Reflection
Today’s passages remind us that faithfulness matters even when we cannot understand what God is doing. Job teaches us to hold on to our integrity and trust God’s justice, even in confusing seasons. Paul reminds us that forgiveness and restoration are essential in Christian relationships. David shows us that God remains faithful even when people betray us, while Proverbs highlights the importance of wise living and intentional guidance for the next generation.
The simple lesson is this: Trust God when you don’t have answers, forgive when you have been hurt, live with integrity, and intentionally build godly character in yourself and others.
