Text: Psalm 147:3; Isaiah 61:3
Not every new beginning looks like a celebration. Sometimes it begins with tears, disappointment, loss, or the quiet process of putting yourself back together. There are seasons when we wonder why God allowed certain things to happen, only to discover later that He was healing places in us that we had learned to hide.
Psalm 147:3 gives us a tender picture of God: “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” God does not despise our broken places. He meets us there. He is not asking us to pretend that nothing happened; He is inviting us to trust Him with what happened.
Perhaps there is a part of your story you would never have chosen. Maybe you lost something, someone, or a version of yourself that you thought would remain forever. But the end of one chapter does not mean the end of your story. God can take what wounded you and, in time, make it part of the testimony that strengthens someone else.
Beloved, do not be ashamed of the process. You are allowed to heal. You are allowed to begin again. You are allowed to believe that something beautiful can still come from a season that was painful. The God who sees every tear is also the God who restores joy.
May you have a hope-filled day, and may the Lord gently heal every broken place, restore what has been lost, and give you courage to embrace the beautiful new beginning He is writing in your life. Always remember that God is still able to make all things beautiful in His time. Shalom! 🙏🏾
Esther 4:1–7:10
When Mordecai learned about Haman’s plan to destroy the Jews, he mourned deeply and urged Esther to approach the king for help. Esther was afraid because appearing before the king without being invited could cost her life. However, she chose courage and asked the Jews to fast for her. Esther eventually revealed Haman’s evil plan to the king. The king became angry, and Haman was executed on the very gallows he had prepared for Mordecai.
Key Themes: Courage, prayer and fasting, purpose, wisdom, justice, and God’s providence.
1 Corinthians 12:1–26
Paul teaches that spiritual gifts come from the same Holy Spirit and are given for the good of the entire church. Believers may have different gifts and abilities, but they all belong to one body—the body of Christ. Just as the human body needs every part to function properly, the church needs every believer. No one should feel unimportant, and no one should consider themselves more important than others. Every gift has value when used in love.
Key Themes: Spiritual gifts, unity, diversity, service, humility, and the importance of every believer.
Psalm 36:1–12
David describes the wicked as people who have little fear of God and are deceived by their own pride. In contrast, he celebrates God’s unfailing love, faithfulness, righteousness, and justice. God’s love reaches the heavens, and His faithfulness extends to the clouds. David finds safety and satisfaction in God’s presence and asks Him to continue showing His goodness to those who know Him. He also asks God to protect him from the influence of the wicked.
Key Themes: God’s unfailing love, faithfulness, righteousness, protection, humility, and refuge in God.
Proverbs 21:21–22
These verses teach that those who pursue righteousness and kindness will find true life, honour, and blessing. They also show that wisdom is more powerful than physical strength. A wise person can overcome a strong enemy and tear down what seems secure. The passage reminds us that success does not depend only on power or resources. Walking in righteousness, kindness, and wisdom gives us strength that cannot easily be defeated.
Key Themes: Righteousness, kindness, wisdom, honour, strength, and overcoming challenges.
Final Reflection
Today’s passages remind us that God can use ordinary people who are willing to step forward in faith. Esther could have remained silent, but she chose courage and became part of God’s plan to save her people. Paul reminds us that every believer has a meaningful place in God’s family and should use their gifts to build others up. Psalm 36 contrasts human pride with God’s unfailing love, while Proverbs shows that righteousness and wisdom are greater than strength alone.
The simple lesson is this: Be courageous, use what God has given you, walk in love and wisdom, and trust God to work through your obedience.
