Praise God for the New Thing He Is Doing
Isaiah 43:19; Psalm 118:24
There are seasons when we can clearly see what God is doing, and there are others when we must praise Him simply because we know who He is. As we embrace New Beginnings, let us remember that praise should not wait for the evidence of the new thing. We can praise God while the promise is still unfolding.
Isaiah 43:19 reminds us that God is already at work. Before we see the way in the wilderness or the rivers in the desert, God declares, “I will do a new thing.” What a reason to praise Him! Our confidence is not in what we can see but in the faithfulness of the One who has promised.
Beloved, today, take your eyes away from what has not yet changed and fix them on the God who never changes. Praise Him for yesterday’s faithfulness, today’s grace, and tomorrow’s possibilities. Praise Him because His mercies are new every morning. Praise Him because a new beginning is already in His hands.
As you worship today, let your praise rise from gratitude. The God who carried you through the last season will faithfully lead you into the next. May your heart overflow with worship as you trust Him for every new thing He is bringing forth.

BIBLE READING SUMMARY
Ezra 8:21–9:15
Ezra proclaimed a fast so the people could humble themselves and seek God’s protection for their journey. He trusted God rather than asking the king for military protection. God answered their prayers and safely brought them to Jerusalem. Later, Ezra learned that many Israelites, including leaders, had married people from surrounding nations and were following their ungodly practices. Ezra was deeply grieved, confessed the people’s sins, and acknowledged God’s mercy despite their unfaithfulness.

1 Corinthians 5:1–13
Paul confronts the Corinthian church because of serious sexual immorality among them. Instead of ignoring the sin, he instructs the church to deal with it firmly and lovingly so that the individual may eventually turn back to God. Paul explains that believers should not live carelessly in sin while claiming to follow Christ. However, he makes it clear that Christians are not called to judge everyone outside the church. They are responsible for maintaining holiness within the body of Christ.

Psalm 31:1–8
David places his complete trust in God while facing trouble and danger. He asks God to rescue and protect him, declaring that the Lord is his rock, refuge, and stronghold. David commits his life into God’s hands and rejects those who worship worthless idols. Despite his difficulties, he remains confident that God sees his suffering and knows his troubles. He rejoices because he trusts that God will deliver him from his enemies.
Key Themes: Trust, protection, surrender, deliverance, God’s faithfulness, and confidence during trouble.
Proverbs 21:1–2
These verses remind us that God is sovereign even over the decisions of rulers. A king’s heart is in God’s hands, and He can direct it according to His purposes. The second verse teaches that people often believe their own actions are right, but God looks deeper into the heart and examines motives. We should therefore seek God’s wisdom rather than trusting only our own judgment.

Final Reflection
These passages remind us that God desires a people who trust Him, walk in holiness, and remain humble before Him. Ezra shows us the importance of prayer, repentance, and turning back to God when we recognize our failures. Paul reminds us that following Christ requires accountability and a commitment to holiness. David demonstrates that even in difficult circumstances, we can place our lives completely in God’s hands. Proverbs reminds us that God sees beyond our actions and knows the motives of our hearts.
The simple lesson is this: Trust God, keep your heart clean, and allow Him to direct your steps.
