APRIL 17 – DEVOTIONAL

Transformed-Empowered By Resurrection: Rising To Fulfill Purpose & Destiny

Acts 4:13–16
From this passage, we witness something powerful in the lives of Peter and John. They were described as ordinary and untrained men—yet they displayed uncommon boldness and authority. These same men, once marked by weakness and fear (like Peter who denied Jesus), now stood confidently before leaders, unshaken and full of conviction.

The leaders were astonished and took note of one defining truth-“They had been with Jesus.”
The difference was clear: their relationship with Jesus and the power of His resurrection at work within them. This power didn’t just raise Christ from the dead—it transformed their lives, elevating them from fear to boldness, from limitation to divine influence.

Beloved, there is something undeniable about a life that has truly been by Jesus and His resurrection. No matter your past—whether weakness, fear, hurt, hate or anything not aligned with God—the Lord is calling us higher. We are being raised to become living validators of His resurrection power. So when people us, they should see transformation.
When people hear us speak, they should sense the fragrance of the Spirit—flowing with love, grace, mercy and truth.

Not reactions rooted in fear. Not words shaped by carnality or harsh judgment
But responses filled with love, boldness, and graciousness.
Because God has not given us the spirit of fear, hate or confusion but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, when you have truly been with Jesus, it will show—through your words, actions, and your spirit. People may not fully understand it or agree with you, but they will recognize it. Your life will testify: this one has been with Jesus.Praise God!!

Have a Spirit-Filled Relationship Friday- Weekend. And may you and your family be encouraged to manifest resurrection power with love, boldness, and graciousness—so others may see Jesus in you. Shalom!!

Bible Readings

Joshua 15:1–63
This passage details the inheritance of the tribe of Judah, showing how God faithfully fulfills His promises by giving His people their portion in the land. Yet, we also see that some territories (like Jerusalem at that time) were not fully possessed, reminding us that partial obedience can limit full manifestation.
Key Theme: God is faithful to give—but we must fully walk in obedience to possess all He has promised.

📖 Luke 18:18–43
Jesus encounters the rich ruler who struggles to surrender all, revealing how attachment to earthly things can hinder entering the fullness of God’s kingdom. We also see a blind man persistently crying out for mercy, and his faith leads to healing and restoration.
Key Theme: Surrender and persistent faith position us to receive from Jesus.

📖 Psalm 86:1–17
A heartfelt prayer of David crying out for mercy, help, and guidance. He acknowledges God’s goodness, forgiveness, and unfailing love, trusting Him in times of trouble.
Key Theme: God hears and responds to the humble and dependent heart.

📖 Proverbs 13:9–10
These verses contrast the lasting light of the righteous with the fading influence of the wicked, and highlight how pride leads to conflict while wisdom brings peace.
Key Theme: Humility invites wisdom; pride produces strife.

Takeaway for Today:
God is calling us to fully trust Him, surrender completely, walk in humility, and persist in faith—so we can experience His promises, His help, and His transforming power in every area of our lives.
