MARCH 9 – DEVOTIONAL

Today’s Reading – March 9

Here is what we will find in today’s reading: God reminds us that His Spirit empowers us for the work He gives, faith must rise above fear, true discipleship requires surrender, and integrity keeps us aligned with His favor.

Numbers 11:24–13:33 – Empowered by God’s Spirit & Faith Over Fear
God placed His Spirit upon the seventy elders to help Moses carry the burden of leadership, showing that God equips those He calls. Yet when the spies explored the Promised Land, most focused on the giants instead of God’s promise. Only Caleb and Joshua responded with faith.
Key Theme: When we focus on God’s presence and promise, fear loses its power.

Mark 14:22–52 – The Covenant of Christ & Surrender to God’s Will
Jesus established the Lord’s Supper, revealing the new covenant through His body and blood. In Gethsemane, He surrendered fully to the Father’s will despite great anguish. Even in betrayal and arrest, Jesus remained faithful to His mission.
Key Theme: True strength is found in surrendering to God’s will.

Psalm 52:1–9 – The Security of Trusting God
The psalm contrasts the downfall of the wicked with the stability of the righteous who trust in God’s unfailing love. The righteous flourish like a green olive tree in the house of God.
Key Theme: Those who trust in God’s mercy will remain rooted and secure.

Proverbs 11:1–3 – Integrity Leads the Upright
God delights in honesty and upright living. Integrity guides the righteous and keeps them on the path of wisdom.
Key Theme: A life of integrity invites God’s guidance and favor.

Final Prayer / Declaration
Lord, fill us with Your Spirit so we may walk in faith and not fear. Give us the grace to surrender to Your will as Christ did, to trust in Your unfailing love, and to live with integrity in all we do. May Your presence guide us, strengthen us, and establish us in Your purpose today. Amen🙏🏾
